Fresh particulars have surfaced about the shocking passing of renowned director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Los Angeles home home on Sunday.

The Initial Report

According to a report citing a confidential source, a therapist arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after failing to get inside the home. The practitioner then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

When she went into the home, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had gone with her contacted 911. Afterward, emergency responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Developments

Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, along with the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently detained without bail.

Clarifications

The anonymous source challenged several initial details. They said that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.

Additionally disputed circulated notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "concerned" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. Rather the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction also extends to accounts of reportedly "unstable" behavior by Nick at a gathering held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. Although the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they said that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.

According to law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts noted the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not been medically cleared and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
