Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

Additional Developments

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a number of missiles," it added.

Officials reported wreckage landed in a populated district in the capital, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
