President Trump Welcomes Families of Injured Guard Personnel to White House

Former President Trump announced on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the presidential home.

He mentioned that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Incident

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a attack on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Memorials across the state have been held in their memory.

Presidential Invitation

The president stated he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the parents of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president addressed journalists. “And similarly with him, recover or not.”

Community Support

Attendees came together over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s national effort to support policing efforts in Washington DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“Sarah was the kind of student that teachers desired. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of her former high school, told the Associated Press. “She was sweet, caring and always willing to help others.”

Funeral plans for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Steps and Government Revisions

Authorities have accused a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of homicide and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy caused the administration to halt asylum applications and temporarily stop issuing entry permits to possessors of Afghan passports.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, according to the news agency.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi stated on the program that she planned to speak to the family.

Impact of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a law enforcement officer with excellence, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had courage,” Morrisey addressed the audience at the service. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
