Your Perfect Pocket Monster Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution According to Your Astrological Sign
This return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread enthusiasm within the fandom. From the one-by-one unveiling of newcomers ahead of the title's release, to trainers developing strong opinions on the entire lineup of new Megas, there's plenty for enthusiasts to anticipate.
Given many of the Super Forms boasting distinctive designs that highlight their personalities, one idea naturally: How can link this with zodiac signs? This list is inspired by a mix of vibes, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndoom was nearly selected for this fire sign, as they are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that inspire the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom comes across as always angry, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, renowned for being playful, light-hearted, and spontaneous. That's why Aries much more similar to Super Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Stay on the friendly side of both and benefit from a strong ally; if you cross them, be ready to get burned.
The Bull – Mega Heracross
Similar to a loyal Taurus, the steadfast Heracross, whether in its regular and Mega form, has aided many trainers in Legends: Z-A. While trustworthy, both the creature and a Bull are also Fighting types, and – be it their companion or a strong opinion – will stand up for their side to the end. What about Mega Heracross that recalls most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unashamed passion for treats. Several past Pokédex entries note their craving for sweet sap and how it employs its appendage to hoard it all, which is pure Taurus energy.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Look at this total queen. You cannot convince me this Pokémon is not the soul of every party, offering an endless fountain of chatter to those who wish to listen. Just like an enrapturing, sociable Gemini, it's very easy to imagine Super Medicham mesmerizing an whole open area with their tales. Medicham’s official description also states its ability to predict an opponent's next moves, which sounds quite similar to a socially-savvy Gemini.
Cancer – Mega Manectric
Cancer is widely regarded as the most sensitive sign of the astrological wheel, a passionate sign famous for often becoming absorbed in their emotions. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “tremendous amount of electricity, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to completely manage,” which seems a lot like a classic Crab emotional outburst. It is also recognized for its capability to create a thundercloud over its very self – and if there’s one thing a Crab is going to do, it’s rain on their own parade.
The Lion – Super Starmie
Well, did you think I was planning to select Pyroar for the lion of the zodiac? Aside from the fact that it would be far too on the nose, The Lion is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose gams just went viral for being extremely glamorous (or terrifying, depending on your preference). Players couldn’t look away from the violet sea star, and that’s exactly the same energy a Leo offers to the table. Starmie is also said to be transmitting signals from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Lion to be staging a performance, even if for extraterrestrials.
Virgo – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Virgo is perfectly encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual digestive issues. The zodiac symbol famous for being endearingly judgmental is strongly mirrored across this creature's entire evolutionary chain, from a always shocked face like a Virgo when you inform them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its upside-down face that’s similar to the emoji a Virgo posts to the group chat when everyone says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than creating a strategy.
Libra – Super Audino
Observe this gentle, sensitive creature, who employs the sensors on its ears to tell how others are feeling by their pulse. Always compassionate – sometimes to a fault – and striving to maintain the harmony, there are many Libras who would likely benefit from Mega Audino’s abilities. However, to be frank, it would likely just cause them to worry even more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Mega Banette
This Ghost-type is a creature with a unexpectedly tragic origin: Abandoned as a doll, it became sentient through pure resentment and swore revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That sounds exactly like many discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpion friends. A Scorpion loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect pair with Super Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Both Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly staging a show. Being a Sagittarius personally, the number of occasions I’ve referred to myself some version of a “playful little jester” is innumerable. The showiest and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its description even notes how it “poses to display its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius counterpart I can imagine.
The Goat – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Super Absol has the power to predict calamities ahead of time? That gives the exact same energy as a Goat, who tends to always think they’re right. The thing is, much like a visionary Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the very initial Super Form that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Capricorn to get in on the beginning of the Super Form craze.
The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure
Detached air sign Water Bearer is possibly the non-flame placement that is most like a fire sign – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are countless memes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being chaotic partners in crime. Super Chandelure's double Spirit/Flame typing matches seamlessly with this, and the Super Form's general intimidating aura is also very Aquarius. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Mega’s description says it “draws in negative energy and transforms it into strength.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
